Kite Club Préa was built by Patricia and her husband, Marcio. Patricia left
Hood River, Oregon and spent two years riding her motorcycle alone
throughout South America searching for the perfect winds, waves and
conditions for kitesurfing! Three days after arriving in
Jericoacoara, she bought land, built a pousada-hotel Vila Bela
Vista in Jericoacoara, and built the IKO Center : Kite Club Preá in Preá!
Now Kite Club Preá is being run by Club Mistral and their
SKYRIDERS CENTER.
Preá is a small fishing village 12km east of Jericoacoara, on the
North East coast of Brazil, 290 Km north of Fortaleza.
The Club was openend
in November 2002. Using an original Brazilian design, the Club was
built "by kiters for kiters”. The barraca (an open air Brazilian
hut) provides a shaded area with hammocks and great music where
you can relax between sessions and enjoy The Surf Beach Bar´s
healthy foods and drinks.
There are bathrooms,
showers, changing rooms, storage area and a large deck for cleaning
off your kiting gear. There is also a jet-ski on site for rescue
purposes.
In November of
2008, Vila Vento Eco Hotel along with a brand new Club
Mistral Center will be opening in Prea!
